Senior Portraits – Kiana – Class of 2021
Where do I start with these senior portraits? Kiana is my beautiful, smart, funny, kind, and loving daughter. Kiana has always been great in her schooling and her final year of high school was no different. We uprooted Kiana from our home in Longview, WA last year and chose to homeschool our kids when we got to Oklahoma due to the whole Covid mess going on at the time. She excelled at all that was thrown at her. Before moving she also was in Running start in 11th grade which is where students attend college classes along with finishing off their high school requirements. This often leaves them with a diploma and a degree when they finish. Well, moving changed those plans but she went through it all and didn’t let it bring her down.
Medicine Park, OK
I decided we would go to Medicine Park, OK, and the Wichita Wildlife Refuge for her senior portraits. The buildings in Medicine park are quite a treat and photographers dream with all the cobblestone they are made with. It is really a neat place to visit all summer long.
Wichita Wildlife Refuge
Once we were finished in Medicine Park I drove over to the Wichita wildlife refuge where we found some amazing spots for her senior portraits. We both love how they came out and that is saying something because she rarely loves photos of herself. I finished off photographing her on top of Mount Scott at sunset. It is truly breathtaking at that time of night. Get ready to be herded down the mountain by the rangers if you are too slow. They take their job quite seriously around here. Once the sun sets the mountain is closed.
You Gotta Let Go
Needless to say, this mama’s heart is full after getting these beautiful senior portraits of my one and only baby girl. She has since flown the nest and returned to Washington state to be close to friends and other family members. We miss her dearly but you have to let them go.
