Handmade in Oklahoma
This year I really got into sewing handmade items. I now have four sewing machines!!! Yes I know it sounds like I went overboard but each machine serves its own purpose. 🙂
Fabrics
I do love to go to Jo Ann fabric and Hobby Lobby to buy fabric that I know I can find again if needed. I also really enjoy upcycling clothing from thrift stores into something new giving it new life. Upcycling makes my handmade items even more special because there most likely isn’t another one out there in the world. At least not more than what I can make from the fabric. 🙂
I am blessed to be able to sell my handmade items at Jitters Coffee Shop in the Chisholm mall and at Think ability market on Beech street in Duncan Oklahoma. I also have participated in several events where I had a booth space which was fun too.
I started out making fun fabric wristlet keychains. These are usually an inch wide and 6 inches long and they slide around your wrist so you can be handfree. I really got addicted quite quickly and made over 250 already!!!! So many fun fabric choices I just couldn’t stop buying. you really are limited though to tiny patterns that you can see at 1 inch wide. Here are some of my wristlet keychains.
Scrunchies
Wanting to add some variety to my offerings I started sewing scrunchies too. I even make them into scrunchie keychains for those wanting something more girly. Doing this allowed me to use the same small print fabric and take it a little bit bigger for some more fun.
Twisted Headbands
Wanting to branch out to even bigger patterns I started sewing twisted headbands. These are fun and at 4 inches wide you can enjoy larger patterns and fabrics. I offer all sizes and custom orders.
I also offer buttons sewn on to hold a mask up instead of hurting your ears. I know a lot of medical field workers have to wear masks still. Very comfy with the buttons.
Order some mommy and me matching sets or for all the girls in the family. Don’t forget bff matching headbands.
Zipper Pouches
I love to scroll through Pinterest because the crafting ideas are endless. Surprisingly enough I got the idea of sewing zipper pouches off of TikTok. I love the even bigger area of fabric I can show off at 4.5 x 8.5 inches front and back.
These are great for pencils, makeup, snacks or use as a mini purse by attaching a wristlet keychain to it.
Hair Bows
I end up with a lot of scraps from all of these fun projects. I found a great way to make use of fabric scraps is to make hair bows. These range in 1.75 inches to 4.75 inches long. They are attached to alligator clips and are perfect for little ones hair up to adults.
Where to Buy On-Line
You can easily contact me by e-mail Mycraftymama@yahoo.com, Facebook, Instagram or even TikTok. I update social media far more often than this poor neglected blog. Lol.
Thank you for sticking around to the end.
Check out this if you are bored. 🙂
