Keeter Family Portraits
I got to meet this fun family while on a home school field trip to Moonstruck Farms which they own and operate in Duncan, OK. They raise and butcher chickens on their small farm and now have bought two pigs. We got to see the process from live chicken to in the bag ready to take home for dinner. It was a neat learning experience for all of us.
We decided to shoot over at the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge because it is insanely beautiful out there with the rolling hills and wildlife roaming around. The weather was perfect really in the 60’s all day with hardly any clouds at all.
Our first stop was near the picnic area where we walked down a trail and got those first photos out of the way. The little guy wasn’t impressed and didn’t like how bright it was outside even with his back to the sun. We still managed to get some cute shots.

I decided we could give the kids a few minutes rest and drive down to the Meers turn and shoot in the field so we could get some of the mountains in view. The kids were a little more relaxed and enjoying themselves at this point.

At this point it was about 5pm so we headed up to Mt Scott where we would finish up. I chose the side of the mountain with shade at sunset since I had my flash and an assistant to carry it around for me. The kids were their happiest in the shade. No more sun blinding them. hahhahaha. I really love these last shots.

Family portraits are so very important. Being able to look back upon these precious moments and times when the kids are so young is truly special. I always make it a point to get the most important shots of all….where it all started…with Mom and Dad.

Thanks so much for checking out the Keeter family portraits session. Leave them some love in the comment section.
