One Year cake smash Portraits

I had the pleasure of meeting Galaxy and her family for Fall portraits.
We were supposed to meet up for newborn photos but Galaxy was born premature
and spent her first weeks in the hospital. I was happy to finally meet them all
and we enjoyed a nice photo shoot at Lake Sacajawea.

Check out the amazing cake smash backdrop of purple and black that Galaxy’s mom made.
The black has planets and stars on it and will be made into a quilt later.
Her mom even made the beautiful cake!!! I am in awe of her talent.

Galaxy wasn’t quite sure what to do with the cake but it was fun watching her
taste it. She surely did not do a full cake smash but she had fun.

After we got her cleaned up we wanted some photos on a plain backdrop that I
brought along in a pretty dress. She wanted to crawl away from me the entire time. I love the softness of the white and pink.

To end the session off with a bang we went into her room full of purple and
let her play in the crib. When we put the railing down a bit to be able to
see her better she stood up for the first time ever without her parents help.
I am happy to have been able to capture these milestones for the family.
